About Emre Motan

About

I’m Emre Motan, a data scientist focused on product and business analytics.

I’ve worked in settings where the practitioner is an analytical partner for a product area: understanding the business and its data, investigating questions, and helping people decide what the evidence supports. That work has shaped how I think about the relationship between technical depth, judgment, and useful decisions.

What I’m exploring

I helped build and use DS Agent at Snap, an analytical workspace around capable coding agents. Our public engineering write-up describes how context, reusable methods, inspectable execution, and analyst review support that work.

That experience has made me reconsider how an analytics function should be organized when practitioners can delegate substantial parts of an investigation. I’m interested in what makes the resulting support useful and reliable, how knowledge carries forward, and how teams keep the workload sustainable.

I care about methodological depth, close business partnership, and systems that make expertise useful beyond one person’s hands. Those ideas run through Building the AI-Native Analytics Function, while this site leaves room for other questions and subjects.
